Shaman has always been difficult in the barn and is very rarely left in it due to his habit of nipping and threatening workers which could easily escalate to more dangerous action if the colt were in a truly bad mood. As a result, he is often out in the paddock on his own, as his domineering behavior means he cannot be trusted to be turned out with other horses. That doesn't stop him putting on a show, though. Rare is the day that you don't find the colt pacing the fence-line, tail held high and making quite the racket to draw attention. When he can see other colts and stallions he will kick and buck, although he has never made an attempt to actually get to the other.
Catching him isn't exactly an easy job, either as he seems to thing it is a game - he waits until the handlers get close before suddenly kicking up his heels and sprinting to the other end of the pasture. The only fool-proof method of catching him is to bring treats. Food is shaman's weakness. He loves it, and will become almost placid if he thinks he can get a treat out of it.
Once caught, Shaman is like a different horse - he practically dances along as if it was all his idea and actually behaves remarkably well both in hand and under saddle. He has a focus and intelligence which would not be expected under all the bravado and is in face an interesting horse. If only he could be so behaved all the time.

Leg Type: Preceder/Stalker
Shaman has a focus on the track which few horses can contend with, he is completely unphased by the environment and cares only about the race. During the pre-parade and loading he is calm, cold almost in his desire to get to the task he is there for.
This colt has a very strong break, exiting the gates without a moments hesitation and rushing toward the front of the group yet will then settle and drop behind the front runners in favor of a position just behind them. He has a quick, efficient and comfortable stride which carries him strongly through a race, with him sitting calmly behind the leaders until the final turn where he will swing around the leadee and start to run.
Shaman is a very brave horse, full of guts and drive. He fights in the stretch, enjoying every moment, and will never give a battle up easily. For a sprinter, he has a lot of stamina at his disposal and he will make full use of it.
